MegaCrews are Here!
February 19th, 2011 | By admin

If you have been to the Hip Hop International (HHI) website in the last year you may have noticed that HHI is introducing a new division within the USA Hip Hop Dance Championship – called “MegaCrew” which is a division for crews of 15–40 persons. The long range plan was to add it to the World Hip Hop Dance Championship in 2012.
However, since the announcement of this division, HHI has received many enquiries from HHI affiliates and dance crews from outside the USA interested in participating. This has prompted HHI to re-evaluate and consider adding MegaCrew to the 2011 schedule.
We are pleased to inform you that HHI and subsequently idance® have reached a decision to move forward and establish the 1st International MegaCrew division at the 2011 World Hip Hop Dance Championship. For the UK the MegaCrew division will run in place of the teams division for 2011
As someone interested in the UK Hip Hop Dance Championships we are share a link to the MegaCrew rules (which can also be found on the HHI website). These rules vary slightly from the rules for crews of 5–8 crewmembers. Most notably crews are 15–40 members, crewmembers are over 16 years old (up to 5 crew members may be younger) and routines are 4 minutes (+/- 30 seconds).
Because this is the first year for the MegaCrew division, we are limiting the number of crews that will be accepted. So we ask that you inform us soon if you are considering entering a MegaCrew.
Dancers who are participating in crews in the Varsity and Adult divisions in the World Hip Hop Dance Championship are also eligible to participate in the MegaCrew division. Be on the look out for Megacrews in your region
Please feel free to write or contact us with any questions or concerns at HHI.
