Raw Edge: Injustice. But you can help.
January 24th, 2010 | By Omar
Hey Friends
This email was sent to me from Tara, Head of the Irish Hip Hop Dance Championships and Hip Hop International Ireland. I am reprinting it here, exactly as she sent it to me.
I just wanted to ask for your help with something please. You might have already heard that Raw Edge have made the live shows on Got to Dance. I know Omar that you’re particulary proud that alot of UK crews that support your event have made the live shows and I feel the same about Raw Edge.
They have been a part of the Irish Hip Hop Crew Championships since it started in 2006 and they have been partly responsible for the great rise in standard of hip hop in this country. They are a great crew who represent the whole culture really well and I’m delighted that they’re getting to rep Ireland on Got to Dance. Now, here’s the problem. Although the show has promoted itself as finding the best dancers in the UK and Ireland and although they even held auditions here in Dublin, it has now come out that the Irish public cannot vote! This is heartbreaking for Raw Edge and we all have our hands tied! I’m just hoping that maybe you could send an email to your mailing list. I’m sure they all have crews they would like to support but if you could ask them to watch out for Raw Edge and if they like what they see, please vote remembering that ALL of us in Ireland cannot support them!
If you can think of anything we can do, please let us know. Their live show is 31st January.

Thanks for this Omar. All you guys in the UK, please help us out. Raw Edge need your votes! On another note, Jukebox were fantastic tonight. Hard luck to Status, they were amazing too
heyy
i watch got to dance, and i think raw edge are amazing.
i think, if they wont let the irish public vote, which is incredibly harsh, then you should protest about it, i know a lot of people in my area of england arent happy about that. a lot of my friends would help to protest, it really isnt fair
Yes start a campaign! I am trying to remain impartial as I support all of the crews. In this case I do feel that this is a serious injustice, though.
lets not forget dna they did us all proud toooooo
Thanks Betty, Absolutely! As you can see from the post below AND my comment above, we absolutely support all of our UK Crews as well.
And I believe in fairness and to me the situation of not allowing Ireland to participate was wrong.
